Buyer planning guide

How can I rehearse restocking a beverage cooler with mixed bottles and cans?

Use real drink packs and a repeatable refill task to check shelf access, carton handling and customer movement around a proposed glass-door beverage cooler.

Which drinks should I bring to a restocking trial?

Build a trial kit around the packs that make refilling awkward. Select drinks from your current assortment: for example, a tall bottle, a bottle with a wide body, a slim can and a tray that staff place on the shelf intact. Bring the cartons staff open during replenishment, too. A loose sample cannot show the work involved in unpacking a delivery.

Give each pack a reference on a drinks list. Measure its height, width and depth in the position used for display. Include the bottle cap and measure the widest part of the body. List a tray's outside measurements separately, then photograph each sample beside its reference.

Use this same kit throughout the comparison. JINYU's glass-door beverage cooler family includes one-door, two-door and three-door arrangements. For each arrangement under consideration, request a drawing of the proposed shelves. Keep the pack references on every drawing so a change in the refill sequence can be traced to the layout being tested.

How do I turn a shelf sketch into a refill test?

Start with one refill that staff actually perform, such as replacing a run of cans beside taller bottles. Write down the starting condition: which packs remain, which positions are empty and how much replacement stock staff bring. This makes the exercise repeatable when you compare layouts.

Draw the proposed shelves from the front, label each door and shelf, and assign the drinks to positions. Add a view from above to show rows behind the front display. Mark the empty positions from your chosen refill task rather than beginning with an empty cabinet.

Set out the remaining drinks, collect the replacement stock from its usual pickup point, and perform the refill in order. Record interruptions, displaced packs and repeated movements beside the relevant shelf reference. A measured mock-up can help rehearse this sequence before a cabinet demonstration. Identify which observations came from each exercise, and request the proposed usable shelf measurements to compare the sketch with the cabinet offered.

How should I check access to stock behind the front row?

Leave the front display in its planned position and try to replenish the row behind it. Follow one replacement pack from the carton to its final position. Record every drink moved out of the way, where staff put it and how it returns to the display. Repeat with a can and a tall bottle where both appear in the proposed assortment.

When your usual replenishment sequence includes bringing existing stock forward, rehearse those movements as well. Give the trial packs temporary identifiers on the worksheet and record their starting and finishing positions. This shows whether a layout adds handling that the shelf sketch did not reveal.

Run the same task at the upper and lower shelf positions shown in the proposal. Note where a hand must change grip or a neighbouring pack blocks the movement. Photograph the obstructed step with the shelf reference visible. Write the observation as a specific action, such as removing two front bottles to reach the rear can position, so it can be checked again.

Where should staff put a carton while customers choose drinks?

Map the route from the stock area to the cooler, including the position used to open cartons and collect empty packaging. On the same measured plan, show nearby fixtures, the staff working position and the space occupied by the carton. Use the proposed cabinet's door-opening drawing to mark the door movement.

Rehearse a refill with an empty delivery carton in the intended set-down position. Have a colleague approach, choose a drink and leave while the refill continues. Repeat the exercise from the opposite direction. Record the point at which either person stops, moves the carton or changes route.

Follow the empty packaging back out of the working area, too. A convenient unpacking position may require another move when staff finish the refill. If you try another cabinet arrangement, replace the door-opening information on the plan and repeat the same sequence. Keep the carton, starting shelf condition and customer approach consistent, then annotate the movements that changed.

What should I repeat when a supplier changes the bottle or can format?

Put the old and new packs side by side, even when the drink name stays the same. Measure the replacement in its displayed form, including any cap, sleeve or tray. Add it to the drinks list under a new reference, and date the shelf sketch that uses it.

Set up the same partly depleted shelf used in the earlier trial. Load the replacement beside its intended neighbours, pick a drink from the front and replenish the positions behind it. Record any additional packs that staff must move. Testing the new format alone on an empty shelf would leave those interactions unexamined.

If the first attempt leads to a different arrangement, draw that version and repeat from its stated starting condition. Where the revision involves moving a shelf, request the adjustment instructions for the proposed configuration. Keep the instructions, revised drawing and trial photographs under the same equipment reference. Describe the result using the pack references and shelf positions, giving a colleague enough detail to repeat the exercise.

What should I send with a beverage-cooler inquiry after the trial?

Send a compact trial record: the referenced drinks list, pack measurements and photographs, shelf drawing, and annotated floor plan. State the starting condition and the refill task. Add photographs of the steps that caused extra handling or interrupted customer access, with a short note explaining what happened at each step.

Identify the proposed cabinet arrangement and distinguish observations from a cabinet demonstration from those made with a mock-up. Ask the supplier to review the specific shelf positions and door movements involved. Request usable shelf measurements, a door-opening drawing and installation information for the configuration being proposed. JINYU's category has no published model dimension or capacity table, so associate any figures supplied in reply with the corresponding equipment reference.

Address the inquiry to JINYU, Shaanxi Jinyu Kitchenware Co., Ltd. (陕西金宇厨具有限公司), and include the site and delivery destination. When the proposal arrives, place it beside the trial record. Use the same packs and starting condition to repeat any refill step affected by a revised layout.
