Buyer planning guide

Low-front or standard three-tier cake display: what changes in the customer view?

Choosing between JINYU's standard and low-front three-tier displays starts with a simple check: the listed outer dimensions match. Compare the front shapes at a fixed width, then test the view and serving route with the cakes you actually sell.

Does low-front mean a shorter cabinet overall?

No. JINYU lists C3 curved, S3 square, CF3 low-front curved and SF3 low-front square at the same overall height of 1300 mm and depth of 730 mm. Every format is offered at 900, 1000, 1200, 1500 and 1800 mm wide. Those numbers describe the cabinet envelope, not the height of its front panel.

Take the 1200 mm curved pair: JY-CD1200C3-R and JY-CD1200CF3-R both have published outer dimensions of 1200 × 730 × 1300 mm. JY-CD1200S3-R and JY-CD1200SF3-R share that outline too. The label low-front alone cannot tell you how much of the lower display a customer sees.

For the pair under consideration, request a dimensioned side drawing showing the front edge and each display level. Place the two drawings over the same counter and floor line. That gives you a way to discuss the actual change in profile without mistaking the format name for a cabinet height measurement.

Should I compare curved with curved or square with square first?

Compare within one shape family first: C3 against CF3 for curved glass, or S3 against SF3 for square glass. Choose the same listed width for both. This narrows the question to the front treatment instead of mixing a width change with a shape change. Once you understand that pair, you can decide whether curved or square better suits the space.

Write out the complete codes on the comparison sheet. JY-CD1500S3-R and JY-CD1500SF3-R, for example, are both listed at 1500 × 730 × 1300 mm, yet they identify different formats. A request for a 1500 mm three-tier display does not identify which front you want examined.

Ask for views using identical cakes, boards, labels and shelf positions. If one image has tall cakes at the back and the other has small pastries near the front, the pictures will say little about the profiles. Note which differences the drawings establish and which need a measured detail or an in-person check.

How do I check whether customers can see the lowest display level?

Start where buying decisions happen. Mark the places customers stand at the front and alongside the cabinet, and sketch nearby fixtures that could block a view. On a side drawing, plot the floor, the cabinet front and the proposed display levels. An outer height of 1300 mm does not reveal the visible part of the bottom shelf from those positions.

Use a real product as your test object. Measure its cake board or plate, the cake itself, and any cover that stays on during display. Put that outline at the intended shelf location and check the sightline to the product and its label. Repeat for the standard and low-front versions with the same arrangement.

If a physical example is available, take photographs from the marked customer positions at normal standing and seated views where relevant to your shop. Label each image with the model and arrangement. Treat the results as evidence for your layout, since a profile name by itself cannot promise an unobstructed view.

Will the same footprint give me the same usable cake space?

Not necessarily. Matching width and depth refer to the outside of these cabinets. The available catalog information does not give shelf width, shelf depth, spacing between levels or the clear opening for loading. Ask for those measurements for each exact model before drawing a capacity conclusion.

Check your largest board and tray across their full edges, including rims or handles. As a hypothetical exercise, two 300 mm-wide boards need 600 mm before any space between them or at the sides. That calculation alone does not prove they will fit on a shelf in a 900 mm cabinet. It also says nothing about whether staff can pass them through the opening. These boards are an example, not a listed JINYU accessory.

Lay out each level separately using the measured shelf and opening. Add the finished cake height when checking vertical clearance. If the drawings show internal parts that affect placement, mark them too. A fit worked out for one front format should be checked again for the other.

What should staff check alongside the customer-facing profile?

Follow a typical order from the staff side. Where does the server stand, open the cabinet, lift a cake, set it on a plate and hand it over? Mark those positions on the same plan used for the customer view. Include the path for bringing in a replacement tray during a busy period.

For each proposed model, ask for the dimensions and location of the access opening and for the shelf details needed to judge that movement. If cleaning affects your choice, request the cabinet instructions and check how staff remove and replace the relevant parts. A clearer customer view would be less useful if the planned serving movement is awkward in your space.

Also measure the route from delivery point to final position. The published 730 mm depth is an external cabinet dimension; it does not establish packed dimensions or the clearance needed for installation and servicing. Obtain those requirements for the chosen model before committing its position on the floor plan.

What belongs in a low-front versus standard display inquiry?

Send JINYU the full model codes for the pair, the chosen width and a plan of the proposed location. Mark where customers approach, where they wait, and where staff serve. Include the sizes of the boards, trays and representative cakes you intend to display. If an existing setup has a visibility problem, identify the affected product or label and attach a photo taken from the customer's position.

Request matched side views for the two formats. Have the drawings identify the front profile, shelf positions, usable shelf dimensions and clear access openings. Ask what accessories are included with the selected models and whether the same planned arrangement can be illustrated in each. Keep the drawing revision beside every comment so later changes do not get assigned to the wrong cabinet.

Direct the inquiry to JINYU, Shaanxi Jinyu Kitchenware Co., Ltd. (陕西金宇厨具有限公司). The most useful answer will address your specific sightlines and serving path while confirming the details that the published outside dimensions cannot resolve.
