Buyer planning guide

How much depth do rear connections add to an undercounter fridge?

Map the offered undercounter fridge's rear connections, wall fittings and installed outline on a side view before setting the counter and cabinet positions.

Stainless two-door undercounter refrigerator with recessed handles beneath a worktop between timber cabinets

Does the fridge's listed depth include its rear connections?

Ask for a side view of the offered configuration with the depth endpoints marked. Identify whether the stated dimension ends at the cabinet body or includes any projecting rear components. Keep the original dimension label beside the figure in your layout record. A cabinet-body depth and an installed depth can describe different outlines, even when both appear under the heading depth in a quotation.

The JINYU undercounter and worktop family page does not publish model-specific rear-connection projections. Request a rear view and connection drawing for the exact proposal. Have each connection identified by function, position and the reference used to measure its projection. Include only the connections shown for that configuration; a similar-looking cabinet can have a different arrangement.

The photograph here shows the cabinet front and surrounding furniture. Use it to recognize the undercounter format. The proposed equipment's rear view and installation information provide the evidence for assessing the space behind it.

Which wall measurements help establish the installed depth?

Choose a fixed site reference, such as the finished rear wall plane, and mark it on the room plan and side elevation. Show the back and front of the proposed cabinet relative to that plane. Add the existing counter edge and adjoining cupboard fronts so the effect of moving the appliance forward can be seen at the workstation.

Measure wall fittings at their actual locations and heights. Show a socket face, pipe enclosure, skirting or other projection within the proposed bay on the same elevation. Label each measured endpoint and photograph it with a scale reference. A clear dimension taken beside a fitting can miss the obstruction directly behind the equipment.

Overlay the offered rear view with those site positions. Record which appliance component approaches each wall fitting. Keep the site survey separate from the equipment drawing, with a reference connecting them, so a revised cabinet or moved socket can be compared without losing the original measurements.

How should a power cord and plug appear on the layout drawing?

Ask the offered connection drawing to show the cord exit, plug arrangement and intended route to the site socket. Give the equipment contact a photograph and measured position of that socket, including its orientation. A socket beside the cabinet and one directly behind it create different routing questions. Include the electrical supply details in the inquiry so the proposed configuration and site information are reviewed together.

Request a side view of the connected arrangement where the plug or cord occupies the rear space. Identify which part extends furthest toward the wall and where the cord changes direction. Use the equipment instructions and the proposed connection arrangement to establish its space; an estimated extra allowance added to the cabinet depth can miss the actual obstruction.

Pass the drawing to the site's electrical contact for review. If a socket position changes, update the site overlay and identify the revision. Carry the resulting cabinet position through to the front alignment and opening checks.

What if the proposal includes a drain or another rear connection?

Start with the connections identified on the offered equipment documents. Ask whether a drain connection or other service connection is part of that configuration and have its location marked where applicable. An empty space in a catalogue photograph does not establish how the offered cabinet handles condensate or connects to the site.

For each documented connection, request the supplied fitting outline and the intended route beyond it. Show the corresponding site connection on the room drawing, with its height and position referenced to the same finished surfaces as the cabinet. Ask the relevant installation contact to review the arrangement against the equipment instructions and the site's services.

Keep a fitting's physical projection, the connected route and the required installation space identifiable on the drawing. They may occupy overlapping areas, so adding every figure together can misrepresent the proposed depth. Ask for the combined installed outline rather than calculating a final position from unrelated dimension labels.

Can I move the fridge forward to clear a rear obstruction?

Plot the alternative position on the site plan with the rear connections and wall fittings still visible. Show where the closed door, handle and offered worktop would then sit relative to neighbouring furniture. Record the reason for the proposed movement beside the obstruction that prompted it. This makes the effect of the change understandable to both the kitchen planner and equipment contact.

Keep the installation spaces stated for the offered configuration on the revised drawing. Moving the body away from one fitting does not answer where ventilation or service access belongs. Use the applicable equipment information to review those areas, and link any service-panel question to the panel and removal direction concerned.

Recheck door swing or drawer travel from the revised position. Include adjacent cupboard openings and the staff retrieval position in that comparison. If the counter or backsplash arrangement changes, request an updated side view before copying an earlier front alignment into the fitting plan.

What should I send JINYU for a rear-connection depth review?

Send JINYU, Shaanxi Jinyu Kitchenware Co., Ltd. (陕西金宇厨具有限公司), the proposed model and configuration reference, quotation drawing and available installation documents. Attach a measured room plan, side elevation and photographs of the rear wall and fittings. Label the finished wall plane, counter edge, socket location and any other connection relevant to the proposal.

Request a dimensioned rear view and side view showing the cabinet body, projecting fittings and proposed connected routes. Ask the returned drawing to distinguish the physical installed outline from the installation spaces stated in the equipment documents. Put each dimension question beside the feature involved, with the units and reference surfaces visible.

Keep the returned revision with the site overlay reviewed by the furniture and installation contacts. Record any relocated socket, changed fitting or revised cabinet position. Those details let the team trace the installed depth to the offered equipment and measured room, rather than carrying an unexplained allowance into the final counter layout.
