Buyer planning guide

How do I review a magnetic-snap closure on a packed custom canvas tote?

Review snap position, packed closing, side gaps and item retrieval using a labelled custom canvas tote sample and the same wrapped contents.

Natural canvas tote with long matching handles and a grey peony and flowering branch print

What belongs in a magnetic-snap closure sample brief?

A magnetic snap brings two points on the tote mouth together. Review those points with the intended contents inside: a joined snap can leave openings on either side, and a tall box can prevent the panels from meeting. Start the brief with the contents, their wrapping and the movement used to close the tote at handover. Include finished body dimensions, fabric, lining, handle arrangement and artwork.

Mark the proposed snap on front and back views of the tote. Show nearby pockets and handle attachments. Ask JINYU whether the requested construction can accommodate the closure and which hardware and attachment detail it proposes. The floral tote photograph shows the exterior; the closure review needs views inside the proposed sample.

Decide what the closure must do in use. Keeping the mouth gathered for presentation and enclosing loose contents are different objectives. Describe the intended result so the review can judge the opening against a specific packing arrangement.

Where should I measure the snap position on an empty tote?

Use the sample identifier and drawing revision on one measurement sheet. Record the centre of each snap half relative to the top edge and a named side seam. Identify the reference edges in a photograph so another reviewer can repeat the measurements. A note saying only centred does not identify the reference points.

With the tote empty, bring the halves together and observe the panels. Do they meet directly, or must one panel be pulled sideways? Open the mouth again and check whether lining folds cover the hardware or enter between the halves. Photograph both the open and closed positions from above.

Show the attachment area and its reverse where accessible. Record visible stitching, tabs or reinforcement alongside the proposed hardware description. These views let the team distinguish a change in snap position from a change in the fabric supporting it.

How do I check whether the snap closes over the packed contents?

Pack the tote in the intended loading order, including tissue, sleeves and other wrapping. Measure the highest item relative to the snap centres. A box may fit below the rim while still occupying the space the panels need to move inward. Photograph that contact point before changing the packing position.

Close the snap with the bag on the counter, then repeat while holding the handles if that movement belongs in the brief. Record whether closing requires lowering a box, tilting a folder or pulling the lining clear. Show the closed tote from the side as well as above; a front view alone can hide pressure against the contents.

Lift by both handles and set the tote down. Note whether the snap stays engaged during that movement. If it opens, retain a photograph of the contents as they were when it opened, before repacking.

What should I record about gaps and access beside the snap?

Photograph the entire closed mouth, including the openings beside the hardware. Measure each side gap at identified points. Compare those gaps with any small loose items in the packing list, such as a card or accessory pouch. Record whether an item can reach the opening during the handling sequence used in the trial.

Open the snap and retrieve the item the recipient will need first. Observe where fingers grip the panel and whether the hardware catches wrapping. Check access to an adjacent interior pocket with the main compartment still packed. If retrieval moves the lining into the snap, show that fold before closing again.

When comparing a zip-top option, use the same contents and retrieval order. Record the opening available on each sample. A closure name alone does not describe the access left around the packed items.

How can I compare a revised snap position fairly?

Repeat the measurements and closing sequence with the same contents, wrapping and loading order. Place matching empty and packed views of the two samples side by side. Name the requested construction change separately from the result: a lower snap centre is a position change; closing without tilting the box is an observed outcome.

Check whether the revision also changes lining height, pocket access, handle attachment clearance or artwork visible as the mouth folds inward. A closure that meets more easily may create a different fold across the printed panel. Keep that exterior view alongside the interior photographs.

Record the drawing and sample combination selected after comparison. If another packing set is introduced, identify it as a separate trial so its result is not attributed to the closure revision.

What should I send JINYU after the closure review?

Send Shaanxi Jinyu Kitchenware Co., Ltd. (陕西金宇厨具有限公司) the selected sample identifier, drawing revision and packing list. Attach the sheet showing snap-centre positions and the photographs that explain any contact, gap or retrieval obstruction. Put each requested change beside its photograph.

Include project quantity, destination and the artwork revision with the construction brief. Ask the reply to identify the proposed hardware and attachment detail together with the finished tote dimensions. Compare that response with the reviewed sample, then retain the selected closure arrangement in the written order specification.
