Buyer planning guide

Will a cake tray pass through a display cabinet's rear sliding doors?

Measure the clear opening at each rear sliding door, then trace a loaded cake tray from its shelf to the serving counter before choosing a cabinet configuration.

Glass cake display with pastries on two levels in a sunlit cafe

Why does cabinet width tell me so little about tray removal?

Cabinet width describes the outside body. A tray leaves through a smaller opening bounded by the door edge, frame and track. With overlapping sliding panels, moving one panel changes which part of the rear opening is accessible. Measure that opening on the offered configuration rather than treating half the cabinet width as an access dimension.

Start with the model code and a rear-view drawing showing the panel arrangement. Mark the staff side, left and right panels, handles and stops. Ask for the clear opening with each panel moved to its normal stop. Keep those measurements separate from glass width, shelf width and cabinet frontage; each describes a different part of the route.

The photograph shows a two-level display setting. It does not show the rear door arrangement or establish an opening size. Use rear photographs and the matching drawing to identify the actual doors being reviewed. Label the drawing revision so a later change in panel layout stays visible in the comparison.

Which dimensions should I record at each door opening?

Measure the narrowest clear width and height through which the complete tray must pass. Show the measuring points on the rear elevation. Include any projecting handle, latch, frame corner or track edge that reduces the usable passage. Record the left opening and right opening independently, with the relevant panel at its normal stop.

Take a section through each shelf level. Mark the shelf surface, underside of the shelf above, lower track and any step between the shelf and the opening. A tray resting inside the cabinet may need lifting before it clears the track. Measure that movement together with the loaded tray height so the review includes the space above the product.

Identify whether the opening measurements came from a drawing or a physical sample. For a sample, photograph the ruler and panel position together. For a drawing, ask the supplier to label the clear dimensions explicitly. Avoid deriving them from a perspective image, where the panel overlap and frame depth are difficult to distinguish.

Should I measure the tray, cake board or finished cake first?

Record the complete serving assembly in its intended removal condition: tray, board, cake, decorations and any cover that stays on. Measure the widest and tallest points, including rims and handles. Label each assembly and note which edge normally faces the staff member. Keep the empty tray measurements beside the loaded measurements so changes in product height are visible.

Choose examples that represent the actual menu. A rectangular pastry tray, a round cake board and a covered cake can require different movements through the same opening. Record where staff grip each assembly and whether their hands extend beyond its edges. Use those grip positions during the access demonstration instead of measuring only the object between them.

Compare both orientations for a rectangular tray when the products permit it. Mark the starting orientation on the shelf and the orientation at the opening. If turning is necessary, describe where the turn occurs and what occupies the neighbouring shelf space. A diagonal measurement alone cannot establish whether the complete turn is possible inside the cabinet.

How can I check tray rotation without disturbing neighbouring cakes?

Reproduce the intended shelf arrangement with labelled sample trays and product-height mock-ups. Include the neighbouring items that remain in place during service. Begin with the selected tray in its normal display position, open the relevant panel and follow the full removal movement. Record the points where the tray is lifted, turned or moved sideways.

Photograph the closest approach to the door edge, upper shelf and neighbouring products. Keep the operator's hands visible. Note any movement of another tray and whether the operator must change grip while the selected tray crosses the opening. Repeat from the opposite side when that side is part of the proposed service routine.

Continue the movement until the tray reaches its resting place on the staff counter. Show the counter depth and the operator's standing position in a side view. Record any turn outside the cabinet as a separate step. This makes the result useful for the fit-out drawing, where a coffee machine, wall return or packaging station can occupy that same space.

What should I compare when two cabinet configurations look similar?

Use the same menu samples, shelf arrangement and removal task for both configurations. Compare the clear openings at each shelf level and show the panel positions used. Record whether the same tray leaves from either side, only one side, or only after adjacent products move. Keep each result beside its model code and drawing revision.

A wider cabinet can change shelf layout without increasing the opening required by a particular tray. Compare the complete route rather than ranking the cabinets by frontage. If a proposal changes the door arrangement or shelf positions, update the rear elevation and repeat the affected movements using the revised layout.

Include replacement as well as removal. Bring the tray back from the resting surface, pass it through the opening and settle it in its display position. Then close the panel with the normal product arrangement in place. Note contact with handles, covers or projecting decorations. Keep these observations with the layout record so the selected configuration reflects both serving and replenishment.

What should I send JINYU for a rear-door access review?

Send Shaanxi Jinyu Kitchenware Co., Ltd. (陕西金宇厨具有限公司) the model shortlist, rear elevation and sections through the proposed shelf levels. Include clear opening measurements, panel stops, shelf-to-track differences and the complete tray dimensions. Attach labelled photographs of the menu samples and the grip positions used in the demonstration.

List each obstruction with its location and movement step. A note such as 'tray rim contacts the left panel handle during the turn' identifies a specific question for the configuration review. Pair that note with a photograph and the matching drawing mark. Add the proposed staff counter and nearby equipment to show where the tray will rest.

Include requested quantity, destination and site electrical supply in the inquiry. Ask for the offered model's rear-door drawing and shelf arrangement, then compare that reply with the recorded task. Keep the reply, drawing revision and tray list together when passing the selection to the cafe layout team.
