Buyer planning guide

Grocery tote or gusseted shopper: how much bag depth do I need?

Compare JINYU grocery tote and gusseted shopper references using outside width, height and depth. Check the complete retail pack in a sample to assess the base, handle access and any separately requested insert.

Is a grocery tote simply a wider gusseted shopper?

Compare the width, height and depth together. JINYU's JY-GR-01 grocery tote and JY-PL-02 gusseted shopper are open-top PP non-woven bags with separate loop handles and side and bottom gussets. The grocery tote references have deeper bases, while some shopper references have wider fronts. The name alone does not tell you the size.

Take JY-GR-01 AU-33 at 33.2 × 35 × 22 cm and JY-PL-02 STD at 40 × 35 × 15 cm. Their outside body heights match. AU-33 is 6.8 cm narrower and 7 cm deeper, so a wider front is not a reliable guide to the base depth available for comparison.

Bag dimensions follow outside width × height × depth, excluding handles. Label that order clearly on your inquiry sketch. This gives everyone the same reference points when comparing measurements with photographs taken from different angles.

How do the inch and centimetre grocery tote references compare?

JY-GR-01 US-12 measures 12 × 13 × 8 inches, listed in the catalog as 30.48 × 33.02 × 20.32 cm. US-13 measures 13 × 15 × 10 inches, or 33.02 × 38.1 × 25.4 cm. Both use width × height × depth. AU-33 is specified directly in centimetres at 33.2 × 35 × 22 cm.

US-13 and AU-33 are close in width, but US-13 is 3.1 cm taller and 3.4 cm deeper. Those differences help you choose which samples to try with a boxed gift set or packaged grocery purchase. They do not establish the usable space inside either bag.

These dimensions are market-format references, not a stock list. Include the full product and variant codes in a sample request, and check the actual stock specification available. Small-quantity non-woven orders use available stock options; a published reference does not confirm that the size is held in stock.

What should I measure when a purchase contains several boxes?

Arrange the full purchase as staff will pack it, including sleeves, tissue, dividers and outer wrapping. Measure its largest footprint and total height, then weigh the assembled contents. Take photographs from above and from the side, with the measurements clearly matched to the pack.

For a hypothetical example, suppose the complete pack measures 28 cm across, 18 cm deep and 25 cm tall. Comparing it with AU-33's outside body gives differences of 5.2 cm across, 4 cm in depth and 10 cm in height. These are differences between outside measurements, not confirmed internal space or guaranteed clearance around the contents.

Test the same arrangement in a sample. Check whether the widest box passes through the opening and how the loaded base settles. If staff turn the boxes or stack them another way, measure that arrangement again. Its footprint and height may differ from the first pack you recorded.

Does a deep base mean a rigid insert or reinforced handles are included?

No. For JY-GR-01, a removable base board and additional handle reinforcement are details to request separately. The reference bag has an open top, with no lining or closure. Its gusset depth does not specify an insert material, reinforced handle attachment or carrying-load rating.

Describe what you need the board to do, using photographs of the boxes in their intended arrangement. Ask for the proposed material, dimensions and position of the board. With a removable insert, check how staff place it in the bag during checkout and whether the packed contents sit as intended.

Record the handle construction on the sample, including the attachment points. Note how the handles feel when the full pack is lifted and set down. The published 80 or 90 GSM figures refer to fabric weight per unit area; neither figure tells you how many kilograms the finished bag can carry.

How should checkout staff compare the samples?

Compare each sample with the same contents, packing arrangement and loading sequence. At the checkout position, have staff open the bag and pack the complete purchase. Watch for box corners catching at the opening, difficulty reaching the base or handles becoming hard to access once the bag is filled.

Lift the sample, set it down and unpack it. Use front and side photographs to record any tilting or movement. Keep the SKU and variant code with each set of notes, and state whether that sample has a base insert. The observations should be traceable to the bag tested.

A wider JY-PL-02 STD and a deeper JY-GR-01 AU-33 may suit different packing arrangements. Record both if that happens, and base the choice on the purchase your shop hands over. Testing your contents documents that particular use; it does not establish a general carrying limit or performance claim.

What information makes a grocery tote inquiry useful?

List the product codes and outside dimensions you want to compare. Give the complete pack's width, depth, height and approximate weight, and attach photographs of its arrangement. Indicate whether you are seeking an available plain stock bag or a printed stock option. Include notes from any sample trial.

Set out requests for a base board, handle reinforcement and print layout separately so they can be reviewed against the selected bag. Supply the artwork file with its intended dimensions and position. The floral catalog image shows a presentation direction; the sample and written specification identify the material, construction and artwork under discussion.

Small-quantity non-woven orders depend on available stock. For a custom canvas tote, follow the separate canvas inquiry route. Address your brief to JINYU, the brand of Shaanxi Jinyu Kitchenware Co., Ltd. (陕西金宇厨具有限公司). Keep the sample code and pack photographs with the brief so the next discussion refers to the same bag and contents.
