Buyer planning guide

How should I check a bottle pocket on a custom backpack sample?

Check your intended bottles in an empty and packed backpack sample, compare access and pocket details, and send clear feedback for the custom bag brief.

Which bottle measurements should I include in the backpack brief?

Choose the bottles people expect to carry and measure their outside shape. Include the lid, sleeve and any handle that projects from the body. Note the overall height and widest points, and take a photograph beside a ruler. Liquid capacity alone is not enough to describe the space a bottle needs: bottles with the same stated volume can have quite different bodies and caps.

Label each bottle so its measurements and photographs stay together. Where users carry several styles, include the taller and wider examples. Explain whether a sleeve or carry loop usually stays attached when the bottle goes into the pocket.

On a backpack sketch, mark where you would like the pocket and describe when users need access to it. They may take the bag off first or expect to reach the bottle while wearing it. JINYU offers custom backpack projects, so include the bottle pocket as a requested feature for review in the brief.

What should I inspect before trying the bottle?

Begin with the sample reference and the drawing version it represents. Photograph the pocket from the side and front, including its opening, lower seam and any adjustment or closure. Show enough of the backpack to make the pocket's position clear, especially where it sits beside a zipper, strap attachment or the bag base.

Measure the pocket depth and explain where that measurement starts. When measuring the opening, say whether it is relaxed or stretched. An elastic or gathered opening changes shape, so its flat width may not explain how a bottle passes through it. Place these notes alongside the bottle measurements for an easier comparison.

Look inside the pocket for lining folds and seams near the bottom. Check how any closure moves and where its loose parts rest. This gives you a useful starting record before the bottle changes the pocket's shape. It also helps the supplier locate the construction detail if you later report a problem.

Why check the bottle with the backpack both empty and packed?

The space around a side pocket can change when the main compartment is filled. First try a labelled bottle in the empty sample. Then pack the items the backpack is intended to hold and try the same bottle again. Use the actual cases, notebooks, clothing or other kit where available, and photograph how they are arranged.

Compare how far the bottle goes into the pocket and whether it presses into the main compartment. Watch for changes at the opening as well as at the bottom. With the bottle in place, close the backpack and try the neighbouring compartment or zipper. Record where access becomes awkward, using a short photo sequence if one picture misses the detail.

Keep the contents in the same positions when comparing another bottle or sample. If they shift, put them back before repeating the exercise. A consistent packing arrangement makes it easier to see whether a difference comes from the pocket or from the items behind it.

How should I try taking the bottle out and putting it back?

Follow the use described in your brief. If people normally set the backpack down before reaching for a bottle, try it on that surface. If access while wearing the bag matters, put on the packed sample and adjust the straps as intended. Notice where your hand grips the bottle and whether you need a second hand to hold the pocket open.

Include the movements that surround bottle use: lifting the backpack, putting it on, taking it off and setting it down. Observe whether the bottle moves within the pocket or gets in the way of an arm, strap or nearby opening. Describe the movement and what happened so the supplier can understand the issue.

Try each bottle with the same contents arrangement. Another person can repeat the exercise to reveal differences in reach or grip. Keep those observations separate and identify the bottle used; this makes the feedback more useful than a single overall judgement that the pocket is comfortable or easy to reach.

What can I ask the supplier to review if access is awkward?

Pinpoint where the difficulty starts. A bottle may catch at the opening, stop above the bottom or sit so low that it is hard to grasp. Take a photograph at that point and identify any seam, binding, closure or strap involved. Include the bottle reference and whether the backpack was empty or packed.

Use that observation to ask about the pocket's dimensions, position or construction. If the supplier proposes a wider opening or a different placement, mark it on the drawing and consider the neighbouring compartments too. The revised arrangement may change access or the space available for other contents.

Review the proposed fabric and opening details on the sample. If the project has a performance requirement, such as water resistance or a carrying load, put it in the brief so it can be addressed with its own specification and evidence. For the bottle-fit feedback, concentrate on what you observed and which part of the proposed construction needs attention.

What should I send JINYU after the sample review?

Bring the review into one clear package: the bottle list and measurements, labelled photographs, backpack sketch and sample reference. Include views of the empty pocket, the bottle in place and the packed main compartment. Add a short sequence of insertion or removal when the issue is difficult to explain in a still image.

Pair each requested change with the observation behind it. Keep the pocket position, opening and nearby compartments on one current drawing version. When you receive a revised sample, repeat the earlier comparison with the same bottles and contents. Date the results and identify both samples so the supplier can follow what changed.

Send the inquiry to JINYU, Shaanxi Jinyu Kitchenware Co., Ltd. (陕西金宇厨具有限公司). Include your requested quantity, destination, artwork position and the wider backpack brief, including dimensions, straps and compartment layout. This lets the bottle-pocket request be considered alongside the rest of the custom project, with the agreed construction recorded in the order specification.
